What the site collects, how we use it, and what we don’t do with it. Last updated October 21, 2026.
Who we are
sierrabg.com (the “site”) is run by Sierra Office Systems and Products (“Sierra Office Supply & Printing,” “Sierra,” “we” or “us”). This policy explains what we collect through the site and how we use it. Our terms & conditions cover the rest of using the site.
What we collect
You can browse the site without giving us any personal information. We collect it only in these cases:
- Quote requests. When you fill in the quote form, we receive your name, email address and message, plus your company, phone number and the service you choose if you add them.
- Files you upload. Files sent through our ShareFile upload link go to Sierra’s ShareFile account, along with the name and email address you enter there.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our web server logs each visitor’s IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. The quote form also records the IP address and browser of each submission, which we use to block spam.
- How you found us. A quote request also records the page you first landed on and what sent you there: the referring website, our ad campaign, or the click ID Google adds when you click one of our ads. This tells us which of our advertising works.
- How the site is used. Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived, the kind of device and browser you use, your approximate location (city level, worked out from your IP address), and whether you send a quote request or tap one of our phone numbers. See “Cookies and tracking” below.
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used and which of our ads bring in quote requests. It sets cookies on sierrabg.com and sends Google the activity described above, along with your IP address and browser information. Google processes this for us as a service provider. We’ve turned off Google signals and ad personalization, and we have told Google not to use our data to improve its own products. That means visiting our site doesn’t add you to advertising audiences or lead to our ads following you around the web (“remarketing”).
When you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, Google may use an advertising cookie to tell us whether that click led to a quote request or a call. The site also remembers how you arrived in your browser tab (session storage, not a cookie) until you close the tab, so the quote form can include it.
We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, the site turns off advertising cookies and ad measurement for your visit; Google Analytics still counts the visit without them. To block Google Analytics completely, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s cookie settings. The site works the same either way.
The pages also load their fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and they receive your IP address and browser information.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and quote requests.
- To prepare, produce and deliver your orders and run your account.
- To keep the site working and secure, including blocking spam and abuse.
- To understand how the site is used and which of our ads bring in requests, so we can improve both.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it so that you can be shown ads based on your activity across other websites. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us run the site and our business, such as our web host, our email provider, ShareFile, and Google (Analytics and measuring our ads), which handle it on our behalf;
- when the law requires it, or when it’s needed to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
Links to other sites
The site links to sites run by others, including our online office-supply store, our promotional products store, partner catalogs and our social media pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may use cookies. This policy doesn’t cover them.
How we protect it
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Quote requests are stored away from the public part of the server and sent to our staff through our company email, and file uploads go through ShareFile’s secure upload rather than email. We don’t take payment card details on this site. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to your information to the people who need it.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests, files and related records for as long as we need them to respond to you, complete your work and keep normal business records.
Your privacy rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we’ve collected about you in the past 12 months, where it came from, why we collected it and who we’ve shared it with;
- correct information that’s wrong;
- delete your information, apart from records the law requires us to keep, such as order and tax records.
We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads based on your activity across other sites). If you’d still like to limit ad measurement, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, as described under “Cookies and tracking.” We won’t treat you differently for making a request. We offer these rights to everyone, and they include the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
To make a request, call us toll-free at (800) 233-9275 or email sales@sierrabg.com. We’ll confirm it’s you by matching the details you give us with what we hold, and we’ll respond within 45 days. Someone you authorize in writing can also make a request for you.
What we’ve collected in the past 12 months
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number and IP address.
- Business information: company name and the products or services you ask about.
- Internet activity: browser and device type, pages viewed, visit times, how you arrived (referring site, ad campaign or ad click ID), and whether you sent a quote request or tapped a phone number.
- Approximate location: city or region, worked out from your IP address.
- Content you send us: messages and uploaded files.
This information comes from you and your browser. We use it for the purposes listed under “How we use it” and disclose it only to the service providers listed under “Who we share it with.” We haven’t sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don’t ask for sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers or precise location.
Children
The site is meant for businesses and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
